No
The summary describes a mechanical implant system (plates and screws) for bone fixation and does not mention any software, algorithms, or data processing that would indicate the use of AI/ML.
Yes
The device is described as "implants of the Alians Clavicle range" used for "fixation of fractures, mal-unions and osteotomies of the clavicle in adults," which directly addresses and treats a medical condition.
No
The device is an implant for fixing clavicle fractures, not for diagnosing medical conditions.
No
The device description explicitly states it consists of plates and screws, which are hardware implants.
No, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- IVD Definition: In Vitro Diagnostics are medical devices used to perform tests on samples taken from the human body (like blood, urine, tissue) to provide information about a person's health.
- Device Description: The Alians Clavicle range consists of plates and screws designed for the fixation of fractures, mal-unions, and osteotomies of the clavicle. These are physical implants used within the body to stabilize bone.
- Intended Use: The intended use is for the fixation of bone issues, not for testing or analyzing biological samples.
The description clearly indicates this is a surgical implant, which falls under a different category of medical devices than IVDs.

§ 888.3030 Single/multiple component metallic bone fixation appliances and accessories.
(a)
Identification. Single/multiple component metallic bone fixation appliances and accessories are devices intended to be implanted consisting of one or more metallic components and their metallic fasteners. The devices contain a plate, a nail/plate combination, or a blade/plate combination that are made of alloys, such as cobalt-chromium-molybdenum, stainless steel, and titanium, that are intended to be held in position with fasteners, such as screws and nails, or bolts, nuts, and washers. These devices are used for fixation of fractures of the proximal or distal end of long bones, such as intracapsular, intertrochanteric, intercervical, supracondylar, or condylar fractures of the femur; for fusion of a joint; or for surgical procedures that involve cutting a bone. The devices may be implanted or attached through the skin so that a pulling force (traction) may be applied to the skeletal system.(b)
