Intended Use

Device Story
The Array 360 System CRPMPE Reagent is an in vitro diagnostic reagent used with the Array 360 System and Calibrator 5 Plus for quantitative measurement of C-reactive protein (CRP) in human serum or plasma. The device utilizes rate nephelometry, where latex-coated particles react with CRP in the sample; the resulting light scattering is measured at a 70° angle at 26.7°C. The system provides a concentration output (analytic range 0.1–12.0 mg/dL) used by clinicians to assess patient status regarding stress, trauma, infection, inflammation, or surgery. It is intended for professional use in clinical laboratory settings.
Clinical Evidence
Bench testing only. Performance was validated via method comparison against the predicate (n=180, slope 0.983, r=0.995). Imprecision studies were conducted across three levels (0.27, 6.92, and 10.9 mg/dL). Within-run %C.V. ranged from 2.1% to 10.1%; total imprecision %C.V. ranged from 3.6% to 13.9%.

We have reviewed your Section 510(k) notification of intent to market the device referenced above and we have determined the device is substantially equivalent (for the indications for use stated in the enclosure) to legally marketed predicate devices marketed in interstate commerce prior to May 28, 1976, the enactment date of the Medical Device Amendments, or to devices that have been reclassified in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (Act). You may, therefore, market the device, subject to the general controls provisions of the Act. The general controls provisions of the Act include requirements for annual registration, listing of devices, good manufacturing practice, labeling, and prohibitions against misbranding and adulteration.
If your device is classified (see above) into either class II (Special Controls) or class III (Premarket Approval), it may be subject to such additional controls.
