No

The device is described as a physical examination glove, which is a hardware medical device, not software.

Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).

Here's why:

  • Intended Use: The intended use clearly states the glove is for preventing contamination between patient and examiner by being worn on the hand. This is a physical barrier function, not a diagnostic test performed on samples taken from the body.
  • Device Description: The description is for an examination glove, which is a physical barrier device.
  • Lack of IVD Characteristics: The description does not mention any of the typical characteristics of an IVD, such as:
    • Analyzing samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.)
    • Detecting specific substances or markers
    • Providing diagnostic information about a patient's health condition

IVDs are used to examine specimens derived from the human body to provide information for the diagnosis, prevention, monitoring, treatment, or alleviation of disease. This glove does not perform any of those functions.
