No
The device, "medical gloves," is intended to prevent contamination between healthcare personnel and patients, which is a barrier function, not a diagnostic one. It does not analyze or interpret any physiological data to identify a disease, condition, or risk.
No
The device description clearly states it is a physical product (gloves) and there is no mention of software components or functionality.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use is to prevent contamination between healthcare personnel and the patient by being worn on the hand. This is a barrier function, not a diagnostic test performed in vitro (outside the body) on specimens like blood, urine, or tissue.
- Device Description: The description is for a physical barrier (gloves).
- Lack of IVD Characteristics: There is no mention of analyzing biological samples, detecting substances, or providing diagnostic information.
IVDs are devices used to examine specimens from the human body to provide information for the diagnosis, monitoring, or treatment of diseases or conditions. This device does not fit that description.
