The summary describes a chemical reagent for quantitative analysis, with no mention of AI or ML technologies.
No
The device is for the quantitative determination of Calcium concentrations, which is a diagnostic purpose, not a therapeutic one.
Yes
The device is described as "intended for the quantitative determination of Calcium concentrations in human serum," which is a measurement used to aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of medical conditions.
No
The device description clearly identifies the device as a "reagent," which is a chemical substance used in a chemical reaction. This indicates a physical component, not a software-only device.
Based on the provided information, the Olympus Calcium Arsenazo Reagent is an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use explicitly states "quantitative determination of Calcium concentrations in human serum". This indicates the device is used to analyze a biological sample (human serum) in vitro (outside the body) to provide diagnostic information (calcium concentration).
- Device Description: The description is for a "Reagent", which is a common component used in laboratory tests for in vitro analysis.
The definition of an IVD generally includes devices used to examine specimens derived from the human body to provide information for diagnostic, monitoring, or compatibility purposes. The Olympus Calcium Arsenazo Reagent fits this definition.
