Intended Use
PREMIUM Implant Systems -SHELTA Implant Systems are intended for both one- and two-stage surgical procedures. PREMIUM Implant Systems-SHELTA Implant Systems are intended for immediate placement and function on single tooth and/or multiple tooth applications when good primary stability is achieved, with appropriate occlusal loading, in order to restore chewing function. Multiple tooth applications may be splinted with a bar. Abutments: PREMIUM-SHELTA Abutments are intended to be used in conjunction with a PREMIUM-SHELTA Implants Systems in fully edentulous or partially edentulous maxillary and/or mandibular arches. The PREMIUM-SHELTA Abutment is intended for use with an endosseous implant to support a prosthetic device in a partially or completely edentulous patient. It is intended for use to support single tooth prostheses, in the mandible or maxilla. The prosthesis can be cemented, screw retained or friction fit to the abutment. The abutment screw is intended to secure the abutment to the endosseous implant. PREMIUM-SHELTA Abutments are compatible with PREMIUM-SHELTA Implants Systems.

No
The provided text describes dental implants and abutments, focusing on their surgical use and compatibility. There is no mention of AI, ML, image processing, or any other technology typically associated with AI/ML in medical devices.

No
The device is an implant system (implants and abutments) intended to restore chewing function by supporting prosthetic devices in edentulous patients. It replaces missing teeth, which is a restorative function, not a therapeutic one that treats disease or injury.

No
The device, PREMIUM Implant Systems-SHELTA, is described as intended for restoring chewing function and supporting prosthetic devices, not for diagnosing conditions or diseases.

No

The device description and intended use clearly describe physical implants and abutments, which are hardware components, not software.

Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).

Here's why:

  • IVD Definition: In vitro diagnostics are tests performed on samples taken from the human body, such as blood, urine, or tissue, to detect diseases, conditions, or infections.
  • Device Description: The provided text describes dental implants and abutments, which are surgically implanted devices used to restore chewing function and support prosthetic devices in the mouth.
  • Intended Use: The intended use clearly states the device is for surgical procedures and supporting prosthetic devices in the mouth. This involves direct interaction with the patient's body, not testing samples taken from the body.

Therefore, the description aligns with a medical device used for surgical and prosthetic purposes, not an in vitro diagnostic device.
