The device is a monitor used for displaying medical images, not for making diagnostic interpretations or analyses.
No
The device description clearly states it is a "20.8-inch color LCD monitor," which is a hardware component.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use clearly states it's for use with PACS for medical imaging applications. This involves displaying medical images, which is a different function than an IVD.
- Device Description: The description details a monitor, which is a display device, not a device used to examine specimens from the human body.
- Lack of IVD Characteristics: There is no mention of analyzing biological samples, detecting substances, or providing diagnostic information based on in vitro testing.
IVDs are devices used to examine specimens from the human body (like blood, urine, tissue) to provide information for diagnosis, monitoring, or screening. This monitor's function is to display images generated by other medical devices.
