The summary describes a mechanical mixer with monitoring capabilities, but there is no mention of AI or ML in the intended use, device description, or any other section.
No
The device delivers a mixture of air and oxygen and allows for adjustment of oxygen percentage and flow rate, which is a supportive function and not a direct therapeutic intervention for a disease or condition.
No
Explanation: The device is a mixer used to deliver air and oxygen and monitors supply pressures and output oxygen percentage. It does not state that it is used to diagnose a medical condition or disease.
No
The device description clearly indicates a physical device ("M201Plus Mixer") that delivers a mixture of air and oxygen and monitors physical parameters like pressure and voltage. This is not a software-only device.
Based on the provided information, the M201Plus Mixer is not an In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) device.
Here's why:
- IVD devices are used to examine specimens derived from the human body. The intended use of the M201Plus Mixer is to deliver a mixture of air and oxygen to a patient, not to analyze biological samples.
- The device description and intended use focus on gas delivery and monitoring, not diagnostic testing. The device mixes and delivers gases and monitors pressures and oxygen percentage. These are functions related to respiratory support, not in vitro analysis.
Therefore, the M201Plus Mixer falls outside the scope of what is considered an In Vitro Diagnostic device.

Intended Use / Indications for Use
The M201Plus Mixer is used to deliver a mixture of air and oxygen in conjunction with oxygen hoods, resuscitation bags, masks, and nasal cannulas. The user can adjust the oxygen percentage within a range of 21-100% and the flow rate within a range of 0-30 liters per minute. Additionally, the device monitors the air supply pressure, oxygen supply pressure, battery voltage, and output oxygen percentage.

Dear Mr. Ghosh:
We have reviewed your Section 510(k) premarket notification of intent to market the device referenced above and have determined the device is substantially equivalent (for the indications for use stated in the enclosure) to legally marketed predicate devices marketed in interstate commerce prior to May 28, 1976, the enactment date of the Medical Device Amendments, or to devices that have been reclassified in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (Act) that do not require approval of a premarket approval application (PMA). You may, therefore, market the device, subject to the general controls provisions of the Act. The general controls provisions of the Act include requirements for annual registration, listing of devices, good manufacturing practice, labeling, and prohibitions against misbranding and adulteration.
If your device is classified (see above) into either class II (Special Controls) or class III (PMA), it may be subject to such additional controls. Existing major regulations affecting your device can be found in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21, Parts 800 to 898. In addition, FDA may publish further announcements concerning your device in the Federal Register.
