Intended Use

Liquichek™ Lipids Control is intended for use as an assayed quality control serum to monitor the precision of laboratory testing procedures listed in the package insert.

Device Story

Liquichek™ Lipids Control is an in vitro diagnostic quality control serum; prepared from human serum with added constituents of human and animal origin, pure chemicals, preservatives, and stabilizers. Provided in liquid form for laboratory use. Used by clinical laboratory personnel to monitor the precision of testing procedures for specific analytes. The control is analyzed alongside patient samples; results are compared against expected values to verify assay performance and ensure accuracy of clinical diagnostic testing. Benefits include improved reliability of laboratory results for patient management.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Stability studies were conducted to establish shelf life (36 months at -10 to -20°C) and open vial stability (14 days at 2-8°C for both thawed/unopened and opened vials). No clinical data provided.

Technological Characteristics

Human serum-based matrix with added human/animal constituents, chemicals, preservatives, and stabilizers. Liquid form. Storage: -10°C to -20°C (shelf), 2-8°C (thawed/open). Analyte-specific control for laboratory testing.

Indications for Use

Indicated for use as an assayed quality control serum to monitor the precision of laboratory testing procedures for analytes listed in the package insert. No specific patient population, age, or gender restrictions apply as this is an in vitro diagnostic control product.

Regulatory Classification

Identification

A quality control material (assayed and unassayed) for clinical chemistry is a device intended for medical purposes for use in a test system to estimate test precision and to detect systematic analytical deviations that may arise from reagent or analytical instrument variation. A quality control material (assayed and unassayed) may be used for proficiency testing in interlaboratory surveys. This generic type of device includes controls (assayed and unassayed) for blood gases, electrolytes, enzymes, multianalytes (all kinds), single (specified) analytes, or urinalysis controls.
