The device, an examination glove, is intended to prevent contamination between patient and examiner, not to treat or diagnose a disease or condition. While used in a medical setting, its function is protective rather than therapeutic.

No

Explanation: The device is a patient examination glove, which is described as preventing contamination between patient and examiner. This function is protective and does not involve diagnosing conditions or diseases.

No

The device description clearly states it is a physical product (gloves) and does not mention any software component.

Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).

Here's why:

  • Intended Use: The intended use is to prevent contamination between patient and examiner by being worn on the hand or finger. This is a physical barrier function, not a diagnostic test performed on samples taken from the body.
  • Device Description: The description is for a physical glove.
  • Lack of IVD Characteristics: There is no mention of analyzing samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.), detecting substances, or providing diagnostic information about a patient's condition.

IVD devices are used to examine specimens derived from the human body to provide information for the diagnosis, monitoring, or treatment of diseases or conditions. This device does not fit that description.
