The device description clearly states "Folding Mobility Wheelchair," which is a physical hardware device. There is no mention of software as the primary or sole component.

Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).

Here's why:

  • Intended Use: The intended use clearly states that the device is a "transport base for pediatric clients" and "will not diagnose, treat, prevent, cure or mitigate any of the population of its' intended users." This directly contradicts the definition of an IVD, which is used to examine specimens derived from the human body to provide information for diagnosis, monitoring, or screening.
  • Device Description: The description is simply "Folding Mobility Wheelchair," which is a mechanical device for mobility, not for in vitro testing.
  • Lack of IVD-related information: The document lacks any mention of biological specimens, testing, diagnosis, or any other elements typically associated with IVDs.

Therefore, this device is a mobility aid and not an In Vitro Diagnostic.
