Explanation: The device is described as Alumina-Zinc Oxide Powders intended for use as a temporary or permanent cement, or as a base or liner in a dental restoration. This function is for direct treatment or support of a restoration, not for diagnosing a condition or disease.
No
The device description clearly states "Alumina-Zinc Oxide Powders F and R," indicating a physical substance, not software.
No, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- IVDs are used to examine specimens from the human body. The intended use of this device is as a dental cement, base, or liner, which is applied directly to the tooth structure. It does not involve testing or analyzing samples taken from the body (like blood, urine, tissue, etc.).
- The description focuses on the physical properties and application of the material. There is no mention of analyzing biological samples or providing diagnostic information based on such analysis.
This device falls under the category of dental materials used for restoration and support, not in vitro diagnostics.
