The provided text does not contain any keywords or descriptions related to AI or ML technology.

Yes
The device is described as preparing, cleaning, and irrigating teeth for root canal therapy, which are procedures aimed at treating diseased or damaged teeth, thus fulfilling a therapeutic purpose.

No

Explanation: The Intended Use states the device is "intended to prepare, clean, and irrigate teeth indicated for root canal therapy." This describes a therapeutic or procedural function, not a diagnostic one. There is no mention of identifying, detecting, or measuring a condition or disease.

No

The intended use clearly describes a "System" including a "HandPiece," which are hardware components used in root canal therapy. This indicates the device is not software-only.

Based on the provided information, the Sonendo GentleWave™ System is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).

Here's why:

  • Intended Use: The intended use is to "prepare, clean, and irrigate teeth indicated for root canal therapy." This describes a procedure performed directly on a patient's teeth, which are part of the body.
  • IVD Definition: In vitro diagnostics are tests performed on samples taken from the human body (like blood, urine, tissue) to provide information about a person's health. The Sonendo GentleWave™ System does not perform such tests.
  • Anatomical Site: The anatomical site is "Teeth," which are treated directly by the device.

The Sonendo GentleWave™ System is a device used for a dental procedure, not for analyzing biological samples outside the body.
