The summary describes a mechanical electrosurgical device and contains no mention of AI, ML, image processing, or data sets typically associated with AI/ML technologies.
No
The device is described as an electrosurgical device used to grasp, dissect, and transect tissue, which are interventional actions, not typically therapeutic in the sense of treating a disease or disorder with a sustained effect. It is a surgical tool.
No
The device is described as an electrosurgical device used to grasp, dissect, and transect tissue, which are interventional procedures, not diagnostic ones.
No
The device description clearly states it is an "electrosurgical device" and a "polypectomy snare," which are hardware components used in endoscopic procedures.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use clearly states the device is for "endoscopically grasp, dissect and transect tissue during Gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopic procedures." This describes a surgical or interventional procedure performed directly on the patient's body.
- Device Description: A "polypectomy snare" is a tool used to physically remove polyps.
- Lack of IVD Characteristics: The description does not mention any of the typical characteristics of an IVD, such as:
- Analyzing samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) in vitro (outside the body).
- Providing diagnostic information based on the analysis of these samples.
- Using reagents or assays.
IVDs are devices used to examine specimens derived from the human body to provide information for the diagnosis, monitoring, or treatment of a disease or condition. This device is used in vivo (within the body) to perform a physical action (grasping, dissecting, transecting tissue).
