No
The summary explicitly states "Mentions AI, DNN, or ML: Not Found" and the device description and intended use do not suggest the use of AI/ML.

No
The device is described as a display system for viewing digital images, not for providing treatment or therapy.

No

Explanation: The device is a display system for viewing medical images. It does not perform any analysis, interpretation, or diagnosis of the images itself; it merely presents them for "review and analysis by trained medical practitioners." Therefore, it is a tool for viewing data, not a diagnostic device.

No

The device description explicitly states it is a "Medical Flat Panel Display System," which is a hardware component used for displaying images.

Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).

Here's why:

  • Intended Use: The intended use is for "displaying and viewing digital images... for review and analysis by trained medical practitioners." This describes a device used to present medical images, not a device that performs tests on biological samples to diagnose conditions.
  • Device Description: It's a "Medical Flat Panel Display System." This is a hardware component for displaying images.
  • Lack of IVD Characteristics: There is no mention of:
    • Analyzing biological samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.)
    • Detecting or measuring substances in biological samples
    • Providing diagnostic information based on laboratory tests

IVD devices are specifically designed to perform tests on samples taken from the human body to provide information for diagnosis, monitoring, or screening. This device's function is to display images, which is a different category of medical device.

(a)
Identification. A medical image management and processing system is a device that provides one or more capabilities relating to the review and digital processing of medical images for the purposes of interpretation by a trained practitioner of disease detection, diagnosis, or patient management. The software components may provide advanced or complex image processing functions for image manipulation, enhancement, or quantification that are intended for use in the interpretation and analysis of medical images. Advanced image manipulation functions may include image segmentation, multimodality image registration, or 3D visualization. Complex quantitative functions may include semi-automated measurements or time-series measurements.(b)
Classification. Class II (special controls; voluntary standards—Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) Std., Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) Std., Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) Test Pattern).
