The provided 510(k) summary describes a dental cement and contains no mention of AI, ML, image processing, or any other technology typically associated with AI/ML in medical devices.
No.
The indications for use describe SoloCem as a material for permanent cementation in dental procedures, not as a device intended to treat or cure a disease or condition.
No
The device is described as a cement for permanent cementation of dental prostheses and root posts, which is a therapeutic/restorative function, not a diagnostic one.
Unknown
The provided 510(k) summary is incomplete and lacks a device description, making it impossible to determine if the device is software-only. The intended use describes a dental cement, which is a physical material, suggesting it is not a software-only device.
Based on the provided information, SoloCem is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use of SoloCem is for the permanent cementation of dental restorations (root posts, crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, implant abutments). This is a dental material used in a clinical setting to bond devices to teeth or implants.
- IVD Definition: In vitro diagnostics are tests performed on samples taken from the human body (such as blood, urine, or tissue) to detect diseases, conditions, or infections.
SoloCem does not involve testing samples from the body. It is a material used directly in the mouth for restorative purposes.
