No
The summary explicitly states "Mentions AI, DNN, or ML: Not Found" and the device description focuses solely on illumination.

No
The device is intended for surgical illumination, which assists the surgeon but does not directly treat a medical condition or ailment.

No
Explanation: The device is described as providing surgical site illumination, which is a therapeutic or assistive function, not a diagnostic one. It does not analyze or interpret biological signals or images to identify diseases or conditions.

No

The device description is not found, but the intended use clearly describes a "Surgical Illumination System" providing light from a "high intensity light source." This strongly implies a hardware component (the light source and system) is integral to the device's function, not just software controlling existing hardware.

Based on the provided information, the Invuity® Eigr™ Surgical Illumination System is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).

Here's why:

  • Intended Use: The intended use is "to provide surgical site illumination from a high intensity light source." This describes a device used during a surgical procedure to illuminate the area, not a device used to examine specimens outside the body to diagnose or monitor a condition.
  • Lack of IVD Characteristics: The description does not mention any of the typical characteristics of an IVD, such as:
    • Analyzing biological samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.)
    • Detecting or measuring substances in those samples
    • Providing diagnostic information about a patient's health status

The device is clearly intended for direct use on a patient during surgery for illumination purposes.
