The summary describes a surgical light system and does not mention any AI or ML capabilities.
No
The device provides illumination for surgical procedures, which is a supportive function, not a direct therapeutic intervention. It does not treat, cure, or mitigate a disease or condition.
No
The device is a surgical light system designed for illumination during procedures, not for diagnosing conditions.
No
The device description clearly states it is a "Surgical Light System," which is a hardware device designed to provide illumination. The performance studies also refer to testing the "Verde LED Surgical Lighting System" against electrical equipment standards, further indicating it is a physical device.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use/Indications for Use: The primary purpose is to provide illumination during surgical and non-surgical procedures. This is a direct interaction with the patient and the surgical field, not the examination of specimens in vitro (outside the body).
- Device Description: The description reinforces its function as a surgical light for illumination.
- Lack of IVD Characteristics: There is no mention of analyzing biological samples, detecting substances, or providing diagnostic information based on in vitro testing.
- Performance Studies: The performance studies focus on electrical safety and compliance with standards for medical electrical equipment, which is typical for surgical lighting, not IVDs.
IVD devices are specifically designed to perform tests on samples taken from the human body (like blood, urine, tissue) to provide information for diagnosis, monitoring, or screening. This surgical light does not perform such functions.
