Yes.
The device is used for "canal preparation" and "canal cleaning" in endodontics, which are therapeutic procedures aimed at treating dental conditions.
No
The 'Intended Use / Indications for Use' section describes "canal preparation" and "canal cleaning," which are therapeutic or procedural actions, not diagnostic ones. There is no information suggesting the device identifies or characterizes a disease or condition.
Unknown
The provided 510(k) summary is incomplete and lacks a device description, making it impossible to determine if the device is software-only.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use is "Endodontics - canal preparation - canal cleaning". This describes a procedure performed directly on a patient's tooth, not a test performed on a sample taken from the body.
- Lack of IVD Characteristics: The description lacks any mention of:
- Analyzing biological samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.)
- Providing diagnostic information based on sample analysis
- Any of the typical components or processes associated with IVD devices.
The information provided strongly suggests a device used in a clinical setting for a dental procedure, not a diagnostic test.
