The summary describes a dental luting cement and contains no mention of AI, ML, or any related concepts like image processing or performance studies typically associated with AI/ML devices.
No
The device, GVC-100, is described as a luting cement for dental restorations. Its function is to bond veneers or inlays, not to treat a disease, injury, or other medical condition.
No
Explanation: The GVC-100 is described as a luting cement used for restorations, which is a therapeutic or restorative function, not a diagnostic one. It is used to bond materials, not to identify a disease, condition, or provide a diagnosis.
No
The device description clearly states it is a "radiopaque light-cured resin-based luting cement," which is a physical material, not software.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use is for luting (cementing) dental restorations (veneers and inlays) onto teeth. This is a direct application within the body (or on a part of the body, the tooth), not for testing samples taken from the body.
- Device Description: The description confirms it's a dental cement.
- Lack of IVD Characteristics: The description does not mention any of the typical characteristics of an IVD, such as:
- Analyzing samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.)
- Providing diagnostic information about a disease or condition
- Using reagents or assays
Therefore, GVC-100 is a dental material used for restorative procedures, not an in vitro diagnostic device.

Dear Ms. Joritz-Lyons:
We have reviewed your Section 510(k) premarket notification of intent to market the device referenced above and have determined the device is substantially equivalent (for the indications for use stated in the enclosure) to legally marketed predicate devices marketed in interstate commerce prior to May 28, 1976, the enactment date of the Medical Device Amendments, or to devices that have been reclassified in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (Act) that do not require approval of a premarket approval application (PMA). You may, therefore, market the device, subject to the general controls provisions of the Act. The general controls provisions of the Act include requirements for annual registration, listing of devices, good manufacturing practice, labeling, and prohibitions against misbranding and adulteration.
If your device is classified (see above) into either class II (Special Controls) or class III (PMA), it may be subject to such additional controls. Existing major regulations affecting your device can be found in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21, Parts 800 to 898. In addition, FDA may publish further announcements concerning your device in the Federal Register.
