The provided 510(k) summary contains no mention of AI, ML, image processing, or any other indicators of AI/ML technology. The intended use describes a standard surgical instrument.
No
The description states it is used to "cut and coagulate tissue," which are surgical functions, not therapeutic ones. Therapeutic devices are typically used for treatment or healing of a disease or condition.
No
The device is described as an instrument used to cut and coagulate tissue, which are therapeutic actions, not diagnostic.
No
The intended use describes an instrument used to cut and coagulate tissue, which is a hardware function, not a software-only function.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use is to "cut and coagulate the selected tissue for Laparoscopic procedure." This describes a surgical instrument used in vivo (within the body) during a medical procedure.
- Lack of IVD Characteristics: The description does not mention any of the typical characteristics of an IVD, such as:
- Analyzing samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.)
- Providing information about a patient's health status, disease, or condition based on sample analysis.
- Reagents, calibrators, or controls.
IVDs are devices used to examine specimens derived from the human body to provide information for diagnostic, monitoring, or screening purposes. This device's function is purely surgical and involves direct interaction with tissue during a procedure.
