The summary describes a physical medical device (gastrostomy tube) and contains no mention of AI, ML, image processing, or data analysis that would suggest the use of such technologies.
No.
The device is a gastrostomy tube used for nutrition and medication administration, not for treating a disease or condition.
No
Explanation: The device is a Gastrostomy Replacement Tube used for feeding, medication administration, and gastric decompression, which are therapeutic and supportive functions, not diagnostic.
No
The device is a Gastrostomy Replacement Tube, which is a physical medical device, not software.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use clearly describes a device used for feeding, medication administration, and gastric decompression through a gastrostomy tract. These are all in vivo procedures, meaning they are performed within the living body.
- Lack of IVD Characteristics: The description does not mention any of the typical characteristics of an IVD, such as:
- Analyzing samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.)
- Providing information about a patient's health status based on laboratory tests
- Using reagents or calibrators
IVDs are devices used to examine specimens derived from the human body to provide information for diagnostic, monitoring, or compatibility purposes. This device does not fit that description.
