Yes
The device is described as being used to "examine the urinary tract" and to "perform various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures," indicating its use in diagnosing conditions.
No
The intended use describes a physical scope used for examination and procedures, implying a hardware device. There is no mention of software as the primary or sole component.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use is to "examine the urinary tract, and using additional accessories, to perform various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures." This describes a device used in vivo (within the body) for direct examination and intervention.
- IVD Definition: In vitro diagnostics (IVDs) are tests performed on samples taken from the human body, such as blood, urine, or tissue, to detect diseases, conditions, or infections. They are performed outside the body.
The description clearly indicates a device used for internal examination and procedures, which is the opposite of an IVD.
