No
The summary describes a physical implantable device made of silicone that is carvable by the surgeon. There is no mention of software, algorithms, image processing, AI, or ML.

Yes
The document states that the calf implants are for augmentation and reconstructive surgery, which implies they are used for therapeutic purposes to improve or restore function or appearance.

No
Explanation: The device, described as "Calf Implants (Silicone Carving Blocks)", is intended for "augmentation and reconstructive surgery". This indicates a therapeutic or restorative purpose, not a diagnostic one. There is no mention of it being used to detect, identify, or monitor a medical condition.

No

The device description clearly states "Silicone Carving Blocks," indicating a physical, hardware-based implant.

Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).

Here's why:

  • Intended Use: The intended use is for "augmentation and reconstructive surgery" and the device is a "Silicone Carving Block" for "Calf Implants". This clearly indicates a device intended for surgical implantation within the body.
  • IVD Definition: In Vitro Diagnostics (IVDs) are medical devices used to perform tests on samples taken from the human body, such as blood, urine, or tissue, to detect diseases, conditions, or infections. They are used outside the body (in vitro).

The description of the Calf Implants aligns with a surgically implanted device, not a device used for testing biological samples in a lab setting.
