No
The device is a skin protective barrier that forms a film on the skin to protect against irritation; it does not diagnose any condition.
No
The device is a liquid solution applied to the skin, which is a physical substance, not software. The description details its chemical composition and physical properties.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use clearly states the product is for forming a protective barrier on the skin to protect against bodily wastes, fluids, and adhesive products. This is a topical application for direct interaction with the body's surface.
- Device Description: The description reinforces the topical nature of the product, describing it as a polymeric solution applied to the skin.
- Lack of In Vitro Activity: There is no mention of the device being used to examine specimens derived from the human body (like blood, urine, tissue, etc.) outside of the body to provide information for diagnosis, monitoring, or screening.
IVD devices are specifically designed to perform tests on samples taken from the body, not applied to the body for protection.
