No
The document describes a standard syringe driver for controlled fluid delivery and does not mention any AI or ML capabilities.

Yes
The device is described as
"The T34 SYRINGE DRIVER is designed for infusion of medications or fluids requiring continuous or intermittent delivery at precisely controlled infusion rates through all clinically acceptable routes of administration including intravenous, subcutaneous, percutaneous, intra-arterial, epidural, enteral, in close proximity to nerves, and into an intraoperative site (soft tissue/body cavity/surgical wound site). The system is intended for patients who require maintenance medications, analgesics, PCA therapy, parenteral and enteral nutrition fluids, chemotherapeutic agents and general fluids therapy in hospital and home care environments."
This indicates its direct role in administering medications and fluids for therapeutic purposes.

No
The device, a syringe driver, is described as being "designed for infusion of medications or fluids" and is used for "delivery at precisely controlled infusion rates." This indicates a therapeutic function, not a diagnostic one.

No

The device description explicitly lists hardware components like a "Syringe Pump" and "Extension Tube," indicating it is not software-only.

Based on the provided information, the T34 SYRINGE DRIVER is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic) device.

Here's why:

  • Intended Use: The intended use clearly describes the device as being used for the infusion of medications or fluids directly into a patient's body through various routes. This is a therapeutic or supportive function, not a diagnostic one.
  • Device Description: The components listed (Syringe Pump, Extension Tube, Bolus cable) are consistent with a device used for delivering substances to a patient.
  • Lack of IVD Characteristics: There is no mention of the device being used to examine specimens derived from the human body (like blood, urine, tissue, etc.) to provide information for diagnosis, monitoring, or screening.

IVD devices are used in vitro (outside the body) to analyze samples for diagnostic purposes. The T34 SYRINGE DRIVER operates in vivo (within the body) to deliver substances.
