Yes
The "Intended Use / Indications for Use" section explicitly states that it is "a dental operative unit intended as an operative tool for therapeutic use on people".
No
The "Intended Use / Indications for Use" states that the device is "an operative tool for therapeutic use," not for diagnostic purposes.
No
The device description clearly lists multiple hardware components, including a patient treatment chair, hydric group, instrument boards, footswitch, and dental light.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use clearly states it's a "dental operative unit intended as an operative tool for therapeutic use on people". This describes a device used directly on a patient for treatment, not for testing samples taken from the body.
- Device Description: The description details components like a patient chair, instrument boards, and a dental light. These are all typical components of a dental treatment unit used in a clinical setting, not for laboratory testing.
- Lack of IVD Characteristics: There is no mention of analyzing biological samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.), reagents, or any processes related to in vitro testing.
IVD devices are specifically designed to examine specimens derived from the human body to provide information for diagnosis, monitoring, or screening. This dental operative unit does not fit that description.
