The summary describes a standard medical examination glove and contains no mention of AI or ML technology.
No
The device, a glove, is intended to prevent contamination between patient and examiner, serving as a barrier rather than directly treating or diagnosing a medical condition.
No
Explanation: The device is described as a glove worn on an examiner's hand to prevent contamination. Its intended use does not involve diagnosing conditions or processing any data for diagnostic purposes.
No
The device is described as a physical glove, which is a hardware component, not software.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use is clearly stated as a disposable glove worn on the examiner's hand to prevent contamination between patient and examiner. This is a barrier device used for infection control, not for diagnosing a condition or analyzing a sample taken from the body.
- Device Description: The description details the physical characteristics of the glove (material, powder-free, color, protein content). This aligns with a medical device used for protection, not an IVD which would typically involve reagents, instruments for analysis, or software for interpreting results.
- Lack of IVD Characteristics: The document does not mention any of the typical characteristics of an IVD, such as:
- Analyzing biological samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.)
- Detecting specific substances or markers
- Providing diagnostic information
- Using reagents or analytical instruments
Therefore, this device falls under the category of a medical device used for protection and infection control, not an In Vitro Diagnostic.
