More Information

Not Found

No
The summary describes a physical medical device (a ureteral stent) and its mechanical properties and performance. There is no mention of software, algorithms, image processing, AI, or ML.

Yes
The device is clearly indicated for promoting drainage of urine from the kidney to the bladder, which is a therapeutic function.

No

The device is described as an indwelling ureteral catheter designed to promote urine drainage, indicating a therapeutic or supportive function rather than a diagnostic one.

No

The device description clearly outlines physical components like a flexible stent, pusher, and suture, indicating it is a hardware device, not software-only.

Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).

Here's why:

  • Intended Use: The intended use is to "promote drainage of urine from the kidney to the bladder." This is a therapeutic and mechanical function within the body, not a diagnostic test performed on samples outside the body.
  • Device Description: The description details a physical stent and associated components used for insertion into the ureter. This aligns with a medical device used for treatment or support, not for analyzing biological samples.
  • Lack of IVD Characteristics: There is no mention of analyzing biological samples (like urine, blood, tissue, etc.), reagents, or any process related to diagnosing a condition based on in vitro testing.

IVD devices are specifically designed to perform tests on samples taken from the human body to provide information for diagnosis, monitoring, or screening. This device's function is purely mechanical and therapeutic.
