The summary describes a standard surgical glove and contains no mention of AI or ML technology.

No.
The Sterile Powdered Latex Surgical Glove is intended to protect a surgical wound from contamination, not to provide therapy or treatment for a disease, injury, or condition.

No
Explanation: The device, a sterile powdered latex surgical glove, is intended for protection from contamination during surgery, not for diagnosing medical conditions.

No

The device description clearly states it is a "Sterile Powdered Latex Surgical Glove," which is a physical, hardware medical device, not software.

Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).

Here's why:

  • Intended Use: The intended use is to protect a surgical wound from contamination by being worn by operating room personnel. This is a physical barrier function, not a diagnostic test performed on samples taken from the body.
  • Device Description: The description is simply "Sterile Powdered Latex Surgical Gloves." This describes a physical product, not a diagnostic reagent, instrument, or system.
  • Lack of IVD Characteristics: The document does not mention any of the typical characteristics of an IVD, such as:
    • Analyzing samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.)
    • Detecting or measuring substances in samples
    • Providing information for diagnosis, monitoring, or screening
    • Reagents, calibrators, or controls

Therefore, the Sterile Powdered Latex Surgical Glove is a medical device, but it falls under a different classification than an IVD.
