The summary describes a disposable examination glove, a simple physical barrier device, with no mention of software, data processing, or AI/ML terms.
No
The device is described as preventing contamination between a patient and examiner, which is a barrier function, not a therapeutic intervention.
No
Explanation: The device, a patient examination glove, is intended to prevent contamination between the patient and examiner. It does not collect or analyze data to provide information about a patient's health status or diagnose a condition.
No
The device description clearly states it is a physical, disposable glove, which is a hardware component.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use is to prevent contamination between patient and examiner by being worn on the hand. This is a physical barrier function, not a diagnostic test performed on a sample taken from the body.
- Device Description: It's a disposable glove, a physical barrier.
- Lack of IVD Characteristics: The description does not mention any of the typical characteristics of an IVD, such as:
- Analyzing samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.)
- Detecting or measuring substances in a sample
- Providing information for diagnosis, monitoring, or screening
IVDs are used to perform tests in vitro (outside the body) on samples to gain information about a patient's health. This device is a physical barrier used in vivo (on the body) during an examination.
