The summary describes a standard endoscopic device with no mention of AI/ML features or related performance metrics.
No.
The device is intended to examine or treat, but its primary function as described points to diagnostic or interventional use as a scope, not solely therapeutic.
Yes
Explanation: The device is intended to "examine or treat" the nasal cavity and nasal pharynx, indicating its use in diagnosing conditions within those areas.
No
The device description explicitly states it is a "tubular endoscopic device," which is a physical hardware component, not software only.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- IVD Definition: In vitro diagnostics are tests performed on samples taken from the human body, such as blood, urine, or tissue, to detect diseases, conditions, or infections.
- Device Description and Intended Use: The description clearly states that the HSW flexible nasopharyngoscope is a tubular endoscopic device intended to examine or treat the nasal cavity and nasal pharynx. This involves direct visualization and potentially intervention within the body, not testing samples taken from the body.
The device is an endoscope, which is a medical device used for direct visualization of internal body cavities or organs.
