The summary describes a dental cement and contains no mention of AI, ML, image processing, or performance studies typically associated with AI/ML devices.
No
The device is a cementing material for dental prosthetics and orthodontic bands, which serves a restorative and supportive function rather than directly treating a disease or condition.
No
The device is a luting cement used for cementing dental restorations and orthodontic bands, which is a therapeutic/restorative function, not a diagnostic one.
No
The device description clearly states it is a "Glass Ionomer Luting Cement," which is a physical material, not software.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use is for cementing dental restorations (crowns, bridges, etc.) and orthodontic bands. This is a direct application within the body (or on structures within the mouth), not for testing samples taken from the body.
- Device Description: It's a luting cement, a material used to bond things together.
- Lack of IVD Characteristics: There is no mention of analyzing samples, detecting substances, or providing diagnostic information based on in vitro testing.
IVD devices are used to examine specimens derived from the human body (like blood, urine, tissue) to provide information for diagnosis, monitoring, or screening. This device does not fit that description.
