The summary describes a simple pressurized bottle system for cleaning dental unit water lines and makes no mention of AI or ML.
No.
The device is designed to clean dental unit water lines, not to treat any medical condition or anatomical site in a patient.
No
The device is described as a cleaning system for dental unit water lines, using pressurized air and solutions. It is not indicated for diagnosing any medical condition or disease.
No
The device description clearly describes a physical, pressurized bottle system with hardware components for injecting air and solutions into dental unit water lines. There is no mention of software as the primary or sole component.
Based on the provided information, the C-1805M is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic) device.
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use is to clean dental unit water lines. This is a maintenance and cleaning function for equipment, not a diagnostic test performed on biological samples (in vitro).
- Device Description: The device is a pressurized bottle system for supplying solutions or air to dental unit water lines. This aligns with its cleaning function.
- Lack of IVD Characteristics: There is no mention of analyzing biological samples, detecting diseases, or providing diagnostic information.
IVD devices are specifically designed to examine specimens derived from the human body (like blood, urine, tissue) to provide information for diagnosis, monitoring, or screening. The C-1805M does not fit this description.

- A. Trade Name-C-1805M
- B. Common name-Pressurized bottle system
- C. Classification Name: Unit, Operative Dental
-
- C-1805M is compared to the Class I device K962665 A-Dec Self-Contained Water System
-
- The C-1805M is a pressurized bottle system capable of supplying a solution to the dental unit water lines or pressurized air. The system is used with solutions to clean the dental unit waterlines by air purging the waterlines or injecting a solution. The system can be used to supply water to the dental unit if necessary.
- Both Systems are pressurize systems capable of supplying a solution from its reservoir. Both systems use similar fittings of similar materials. Both systems control the water with a switch. The C-1805M can inject pressurized air by a switch. The K962665 does not have this switch for air purging.

Dear Dr. Thad Overmyer:
We have reviewed your Section 510(k) premarket notification of intent to market the device referenced above and have determined the device is substantially equivalent (for the indications for use stated in the enclosure) to legally marketed predicate devices marketed in interstate commerce prior to May 28, 1976, the enactment date of the Medical Device Amendments, or to devices that have been reclassified in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (Act) that do not require approval of a premarket approval application (PMA). You may, therefore, market the device, subject to the general controls provisions of the Act. The general controls provisions of the Act include requirements for annual registration, listing of devices, good manufacturing practice, labeling, and prohibitions against misbranding and adulteration.
If your device is classified (see above) into either class II (Special Controls) or class III (PMA), it may be subject to such additional controls. Existing major regulations affecting your device can be found in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21, Parts 800 to 898. In addition, FDA may publish further announcements concerning your device in the Federal Register.
