The document describes a standard medical examination glove and contains no mention of AI or ML technology.
No
This device, a patient examination glove, serves as a barrier to prevent infection and contamination rather than directly treating or mitigating a disease or condition.
No
The device, a patient examination glove, acts as a barrier to protect the examiner from contaminants. It does not gather information about a patient's health or condition, which is the primary function of a diagnostic device.
No
The device description clearly states it is a physical product (gloves) and does not mention any software components.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use clearly states the device is a "powder-Free patient examination glove" intended to be worn on the hand or fingers for medical purposes as a barrier. This is a physical barrier device used externally.
- Lack of IVD Characteristics: IVD devices are used to examine specimens (like blood, urine, tissue) in vitro (outside the body) to provide information for diagnosis, monitoring, or screening. The provided description does not mention any such use or interaction with biological specimens for diagnostic purposes.
- Device Description: The description "Powder-Free Polymer-Coated Latex Examination Gloves" further reinforces its nature as a physical barrier device.
Therefore, this device falls under the category of a medical device, but specifically a Class I or Class II medical device (depending on the specific regulations and risk classification) used for barrier protection, not an IVD.
