Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use is to provide mobility to individuals using a powered wheelchair. This is a physical function, not a diagnostic test performed on biological samples.
- Lack of IVD Characteristics: The description does not mention any of the typical characteristics of an IVD, such as:
- Analyzing biological samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.)
- Detecting or measuring substances in biological samples
- Providing information for the diagnosis, monitoring, or treatment of a disease or condition based on laboratory testing.
The device described is clearly a mobility aid, which falls under a different category of medical devices than IVDs.
