The summary describes a medical glove, which is a simple barrier device. There is no mention of any computational or analytical capabilities, let alone AI/ML.
No
The device, a medical glove, is intended to prevent contamination, not to treat or alleviate a disease or condition.
No
Explanation: The device is described as a medical glove, which is used to prevent contamination, not to diagnose a disease or condition.
No
The device description is "A medical gloves is worn on the hand...". This clearly describes a physical, hardware device (gloves), not a software-only device.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use is to prevent contamination between healthcare personnel and the patient by being worn on the hand. This is a physical barrier function, not a diagnostic test performed on samples taken from the body.
- Lack of IVD Characteristics: The description does not mention any of the typical characteristics of an IVD, such as:
- Analyzing samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.)
- Detecting or measuring substances in samples
- Providing information for diagnosis, monitoring, or screening
Medical gloves are considered medical devices, but they fall under a different regulatory category than IVDs.
