The summary provides no information suggesting the use of AI or ML. The intended use describes a dental lining material, which is typically a passive substance.
No
The device is described as a base or liner in prepared cavities, which are supportive functions in tooth restoration rather than direct therapeutic treatment of a disease or condition.
No
Explanation: The "Intended Use / Indications for Use" states that the device is a "base or liner in prepared cavities." This describes a restorative or protective material used during a dental procedure, not a device used to identify or diagnose a condition.
No
The intended use describes a physical material (paste) used in dental cavities, indicating it is a hardware device, not software.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use is "as a base or liner in prepared cavities." This describes a material used within the body (in a tooth cavity) for a restorative purpose.
- Definition of IVD: In vitro diagnostics are tests performed on samples taken from the human body (like blood, urine, or tissue) to detect diseases, conditions, or infections.
The description of GC Fuji Lining LC Paste Pak clearly indicates it's a dental material used directly in the mouth, not a test performed on a sample outside the body.

Dear Ms. Joritz:
We have reviewed your Section 510(k) premarket notification of intent to market the device referenced above and have determined the device is substantially equivalent (for the indications for use stated in the enclosure) to legally marketed predicate devices marketed in interstate commerce prior to May 28, 1976, the enactment date of the Medical Device Amendments, or to devices that have been reclassified in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (Act) that do not require approval of a premarket approval application (PMA). You may, therefore, market the device, subject to the general controls provisions of the Act. The general controls provisions of the Act include requirements for annual registration, listing of devices, good manufacturing practice, labeling, and prohibitions against misbranding and adulteration.
If your device is classified (see above) into either class II (Special Controls) or class III (PMA), it may be subject to such additional controls. Existing major regulations affecting your device can be found in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21, Parts 800 to 898.
