No
The device, a sterile latex examination glove, is intended for preventing contamination between a patient and an examiner. It does not provide any therapeutic benefit or treatment to the patient.
No
Explanation: The device is a glove for preventing contamination and is not described as having any diagnostic function.
No
The device description clearly states it is a physical glove, not software.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use clearly states the glove is for preventing contamination between patient and examiner by being worn on the hand. This is a physical barrier function, not a diagnostic test performed in vitro (outside the body) on specimens like blood, urine, or tissue.
- Device Description: The description is for a sterile latex examination glove, which is a medical device used for protection, not for diagnosing a condition.
- Lack of IVD Characteristics: The description does not mention any components or functions related to analyzing biological specimens, detecting analytes, or providing diagnostic information.
IVD devices are specifically designed to perform tests on samples taken from the human body to provide information for the diagnosis, monitoring, or treatment of diseases or conditions. This glove does not fit that description.
