The 510(k) summary describes a replacement battery pack and explicitly states "Not Found" for mentions of AI, DNN, or ML.
No
The device is a replacement battery pack for a syringe pump, not the pump itself, and therefore does not have a direct therapeutic function.
No
The device is a replacement battery pack for a syringe pump, which is not a diagnostic device. Its purpose is to power another medical device, not to diagnose a condition.
No
The device description clearly states it is a "Replacement battery pack," which is a hardware component, not software.
Based on the provided information, this device is not an IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic).
Here's why:
- Intended Use: The intended use is a "Replacement battery pack for BAXTER AS40A & AS41 SYRINGE PUMP". This clearly indicates the device's function is to power a medical device (a syringe pump), not to perform diagnostic testing on biological samples.
- Device Description: The description confirms it's a "Replacement battery pack".
- Lack of Diagnostic Elements: There is no mention of analyzing biological samples, detecting diseases, or providing diagnostic information.
- Intended User: The intended users are "biomedical equipment technicians and or customers" who need to replace a battery, not healthcare professionals performing diagnostic tests.
IVD devices are specifically designed to examine specimens derived from the human body (like blood, urine, tissue) to provide information for diagnostic, monitoring, or compatibility purposes. This battery pack does not fit that description.

You may, therefore, market the device, subject to the general controls provisions of the Act. The general controls provisions of the Act include requirements for annual registration, listing of devices, good manufacturing practice, labeling, and prohibitions against misbranding and adulteration.
If your device is classified (see above) into either class II (Special Controls) or class III (PMA), it may be subject to such additional controls. Existing major regulations affecting your device can be found in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21, Parts 800 to 898.
