Intended Use
Disposable Air/Water Valve This device intended to be fitted to an endoscope air/water channel to enable the operator to control inflow of medical gases and water, whilst preventing backflow during a GI Endoscopic procedure. Disposable Suction Valve The device intended to be fitted to an endoscope suction channel to enable the operator to control suction whilst preventing inflow of air during a GI Endoscopic procedure. Disposable Biopsy Valve This device is intended to be fitted to an endoscope biopsy port to enable access for/exchange of endoscopic devices while maintaining insufflation and minimizing leakage of bio material during an endoscopic procedure.
Device Story
Disposable Valve Sets consist of single-use air/water, suction, and biopsy valves; designed for compatibility with Olympus 140/160/180/190/240/260 series endoscopes. Valves manually fitted to endoscope channels/ports by clinicians during GI endoscopic procedures. Air/water valve controls gas/water inflow and prevents backflow; suction valve controls suction and prevents air inflow; biopsy valve enables instrument exchange while maintaining insufflation and minimizing bio-material leakage. Single-use design supports infection prevention protocols. Supplied sterile via EO sterilization. Output is mechanical control of endoscopic fluid/gas channels; assists clinicians in maintaining procedural environment and device access.
Clinical Evidence
Bench testing only. No clinical data. Testing included endoscope compatibility, vacuum/water/air flow, depression force, and leak tests. Biocompatibility testing (cytotoxicity, sensitization, intracutaneous irritation, acute systemic toxicity, pyrogen) performed per ISO 10993-1. Shelf-life validated per ASTM F1980-16; packaging per ISO 11607-1/2. EO residuals met ISO 10993-7.
Technological Characteristics
Single-use, sterile, EO-sterilized endoscopic valves. Materials evaluated for biocompatibility per ISO 10993-1. Mechanical operation via manual depression. Compatible with Olympus 140/160/180/190/240/260 series endoscopes. Shelf life: 3 years. Packaging: single tray in sealed pouch.
Indications for Use
Indicated for use in GI endoscopic procedures to control air/water inflow, suction, and biopsy port access/insufflation maintenance in patients undergoing endoscopy.
