Intended Use

The Genuine First Aid CPR Face (with oxygen port) is single use designed for mouth to mask ventilation to health emergency victims requiring oxygen support (inhalation) or cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) rescue techniques of a non-breathing adult. It is also used as a barrier that will direct expired air from the patient away from the user. This device should only be used by persons who have received adequate training.

Device Story

Single-use CPR face mask with integrated one-way filter valve and oxygen port; facilitates mouth-to-mask ventilation for non-breathing adults. Device acts as physical barrier directing patient expired air away from rescuer. Includes elastic head strap for positioning. Used in emergency settings by trained personnel. Oxygen port allows supplemental oxygen delivery. Benefits include reduced risk of cross-contamination during rescue breathing and improved ventilation efficiency compared to mouth-to-mouth techniques.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Performance evaluated for inspiratory and expiratory resistance per ISO 10651-4:2002. Results: Expiratory resistance 3 cmH2O, Inspiratory resistance 2 cmH2O (both <5 cmH2O limit). Biocompatibility testing (cytotoxicity, skin irritation, delayed-type hypersensitivity) passed per ISO 10993-1, -5, -10.

Technological Characteristics

Materials: PVC (mask), K-resin/silicone (one-way valve), non-woven (strap). Dimensions: 122mm x 100mm x 90mm. Connectors: 22mm ID mask connector, 6mm OD oxygen port. Standards: ISO 5356-1 (conical connectors), ISO 10651-4 (resuscitator performance), ISO 10993-1 (biocompatibility). Single-use, non-powered, manual ventilation device.

Indications for Use

Indicated for mouth-to-mask ventilation and oxygen support for non-breathing adult victims in health emergencies. Requires trained operators. Contraindicated for untrained personnel.

Regulatory Classification

Identification

A nonrebreathing valve is a one-way valve that directs breathing gas flow to the patient and vents exhaled gases into the atmosphere.
