Intended Use
This reagent is for the quantitative in vitro enzymatic determination of urea nitrogen (BUN) in serum or plasma. For in vitro diagnostic use only.
Device Story
Raichem® BUN Rate Reagent is an in vitro diagnostic reagent used for the quantitative measurement of urea nitrogen in serum or plasma samples. The device utilizes an enzymatic reaction to determine BUN levels. It is intended for use in clinical laboratory settings by trained laboratory professionals. The output is a quantitative concentration value of urea nitrogen, which assists healthcare providers in assessing renal function and diagnosing related clinical conditions. The device is used as a diagnostic tool to inform clinical decision-making regarding patient health status.
Clinical Evidence
No clinical data provided; bench testing only.
Technological Characteristics
In vitro diagnostic reagent; enzymatic assay principle for urea nitrogen determination; liquid reagent format; intended for use on clinical chemistry analyzers.
Indications for Use
Indicated for quantitative in vitro enzymatic determination of urea nitrogen (BUN) in human serum or plasma for diagnostic purposes.
Regulatory Classification
Identification
A urea nitrogen test system is a device intended to measure urea nitrogen (an end-product of nitrogen metabolism) in whole blood, serum, plasma, and urine. Measurements obtained by this device are used in the diagnosis and treatment of certain renal and metabolic diseases.
